What’s New in GDN Seller API V2.0

GDN Seller API v2.0 introduces significant functional enhancements, expanded rich content capabilities, and deeper post-booking servicing automation.

Important Migration Notice: Full Version Upgrade Required

GDN Seller API v2.0 introduces non-backward compatible payload structures and operational logic. Endpoints between v1.x and v2.0 are completely incompatible and cannot be mixed within the same workflow. To utilize v2.0, Buyers must execute a full upgrade across all integrated endpoints.

V1.x to V2.0 Minimal Baseline Migration

This guide is designed for buyers seeking a fast, low-effort baseline migration from GDN Seller API v1.x to v2.0 without immediately adopting advanced v2.0 optional capabilities (e.g., Seat Reassignment, Ancillary SSR Upgrades).

Important Version Compatibility Notice: Full API Suite Upgrade Required

GDN Seller API v2.0 introduces breaking structural changes and operational logic. Endpoints between v1.x and v2.0 are completely incompatible and cannot be mixed within the same booking or servicing workflow. To migrate to v2.0, Buyers must upgrade ALL integrated API endpoints to their v2.0 equivalents.

1. Migration Scope Overview

To achieve functional parity when upgrading to API v2.0, your engineering team must update all integrated endpoints. There are 4 primary operational/schema changes to handle during baseline migration:

2. Key Mandatory Changes 1- AirShopping: Currency Specification

In API v1.x, currency selection relies on system-level configuration defaults. In API v2.0, AirShopping requires explicit currency intent inside the request payload under the price.settlement node to guarantee accurate multi-currency quotation and Point of Origin (POO) fare matching.

3.  Key Mandatory Changes 2 - Ancillary Auto-Move Behavior During Flight Exchange

In API v1.x, exchanging a flight automatically dropped all previously purchased ancillaries. In API v2.0, ancillary handling rules during voluntary flight exchanges have changed (specifically for Wano supplier connections):

  • Automatic Transfer (Bundles & Baggage): Bundles and valid baggage allowances associated with the original booking are automatically transferred and re-associated with the new flight segments.
  • Reselection Requirement (Seats & Meals): Previously selected seats and meals are NOT automatically re-mapped. Buyers MUST explicitly reselect new seats and meals within the exchange payload (OrderReshop / OrderChange).
  • Spoilage Fee: If new seats or meals are not explicitly reselected during the exchange process, the original seat/meal fees will be forfeited and marked as non-refundable.
For complete step-by-step payloads, exception handling, and detailed exchange workflows, please refer to the dedicate.

4.  Key Mandatory Changes 3 - Promotion Code Support

API v2.0 introduces a new type of airline promotion that is activated only when a valid promo code is explicitly provided by the Buyer.

  • Mandatory Promo Code Transmission: Buyers must pass the promo code consistently in the AirShopping, OfferPrice, OrderCreate, ConfirmOrder request payloads. When the submitted promo code is valid and the itinerary meets the applicable promotion conditions, the API response will return the discounted price.
  • No Automatic Application: If the promo code is not provided, the promotion will not be applied, even when the itinerary would otherwise be eligible. The API will return the regular non-promotional price.
  • Migration Requirement: As part of the v2.0 integration, Buyers must support promo code collection and transmission throughout the shopping, pricing, and booking flow. Buyers that do not implement this capability may miss eligible airline promotions and discounted fares.

5. Key Mandatory Changes 4 - Supplier Error Code Mapping Changes

If your integration relies on handling or parsing Supplier-level error codes specifically for WANO supplier connections, please be aware that the Supplier Error Codes returned in API v2.0 for WANO supplier connections have been updated and re-standardized.

  • Supplier Error Codes: CHANGED for WANO.

In API v2.0, WANO supplier error codes have been remitted to match updated supplier specs. If your system relies on hardcoded conditions, automated retry logic, or custom user error alerts based on specific WANO supplierErrorCode values, you must update your mapping tables to the new v2.0 WANO error catalog.

  • GDN Platform Error Codes: UNCHANGED.

GDN platform-level error codes remain strictly backward-compatible. If your application handles errors exclusively at the GDN standard error level, no code adjustments are required.

6. Checklist for Engineering Teams

  • Ensure ALL integrated API endpoints (AirShopping, OfferPrice, OrderCreate, OrderChange, OrderRetrieve, etc.) are upgraded to API v2.0 (Do not mix v1.x and v2.0 endpoints).
  • Add the currency field under flightRequests[] in your AirShopping request payloads to specify preferred quotation currency.
  • Update flight time change logic to handle ancillary auto-move behavior and enforce seat/meal reselection.
  • Support promo code transmission in AirShopping, OfferPrice, OrderCreate, ConfirmOrder requests, and ensure the same promo code is retained throughout the booking flow.
  • Perform an end-to-end test run
  • Deploy v2.0 baseline integration to Production.
